Serious Cat Urine

Anyone who owns a cat knows that, no matter what, cats can have accidents – but what happens when your cat is having a serious cat urine case? When cats aren’t trained properly as little kittens, they can seriously have bad domestic cat behaviors.

If your cat is older, and has recently started seriously urinating, you should think about taking him or her to the vet. When an older feline starts to have problems with his or her bladder, it’s often because of a urinary tract infection.

And if your cat has a tendency to pee in the same place over and over again, it’s important to tackle that problem right away. If you’d rather do it with a more natural cat care, instead of using chemicals, then there are many options for you.

As soon as you realize your cat has peed on the area you don’t want to, put baking soda on it. Let the baking soda absorb the urine, then clean and repeat until the baking soda doesn’t absorb anymore. You should also slightly soak the area in vinegar. This is so your cat doesn’t smell their own scent in that spot – alternatively, any sort of ammonia-free cleaner should work, but cats seem to greatly dislike vinegar. Strong citrus could also work well. You can easily create your own citrus mix with fresh squeezed orange and orange peel.

There are many products that take care of this problem a lot faster, though they do use chemicals – if it’s ok with you then those are the way to go.

When choosing a product to clean cat urine, make sure that it is not ammonia based. The reason is that cat’s urine has ammonia in it, so if you use a cleaner based on ammonia, your innocent cat will think that that the smell is his or her own, and continue to pee there.
